April Ending


April Ending


I thought April had just begin

Now the ending can be seen.

Wondering how time flies 

The seniors keep looking up the sky.


We can't stop the world from rotating,

Just hoping it don't move so fast.

We have 24 hours each day,

 Do we spend it to make our memories last.


How often we reflect on past holidays 

That we traveled during younger years gone by,

The photos and videos we took 

Bought tears to our eyes .


We thank the development of technology,

That enables us to capture those moments.

With just a phone in our hands,

We can freeze the days of our enjoyment.


The day will come when we close our eyes,

And we find ourselves looking down from the sky.

How would we feel in that moment,

Would it be regret, relief or just say BYE.

At the year's midpoint, we pause and reflect, A world in turmoil, causing mental stress.  Wars rage on, again and again  Cries of sorrow, citizens in pain. We hold on to a glimmer of light For a chance of peace, can nations unite. To heal the wounds and mend the tears, Can there be a way, to calm the fears. Earth trembled in Taiwan's land, Nature's power we can't understand.  Buildings crumbled, lives upturned, In the quake's aftermath, the pain we learned. High above in the sky so wide, SQ321 faced turbulence, passengers taken by surprise. Injuries disrupting a routine flight, Bashing hope of holidays sight.  May the second half of this year brings a change  A world where love and peace can be arranged.  Where wars subside and earthquakes cease, And humanity find a world at peace. My Hospital Stay

My Hospital Stay It's not everyone's wish  To be confined in a hospital bed, When your health misbehave, Hospital is your resting place.    In '99 my health disobeyed,  Chemo and radiation to keep cancer at bay. Cancers contained, side effect appeared, Taste gone, throat dry, consult doctors in fear.  Few years down the road  Health appears to improve,  Then came my sciatic nerve Making legs hard to move.  The pain and discomforts during treatment days, Only sufferers know the pain to put disease away. Needles and tubes, a regular visit  Drawing blood for test, a daily practice.  Another hospital stay for a month,  Eating hospital's food for dinner and lunch.  Early morning nurses pushed patients for shower, Tasks to be finished within the hour.  Preferred to shower by myself  When other patients were at rest.
