Turmoil In 2024

At the year's midpoint, we pause and reflect,
A world in turmoil, causing mental stress. 
Wars rage on, again and again 
Cries of sorrow, citizens in pain.

We hold on to a glimmer of light
For a chance of peace, can nations unite.
To heal the wounds and mend the tears,
Can there be a way, to calm the fears.

Earth trembled in Taiwan's land,
Nature's power we can't understand. 
Buildings crumbled, lives upturned,
In the quake's aftermath, the pain we learned.

High above in the sky so wide,
SQ321 faced turbulence, passengers taken by surprise.
Injuries disrupting a routine flight,
Bashing hope of holidays sight. 

May the second half of this year brings a change 
A world where love and peace can be arranged. 
Where wars subside and earthquakes cease,
And humanity find a world at peace.

The Month Of May

Month Of May In the month of May my wish unfolds, To build a blog where my poems can be told. With hopes held high but fears in the way, The thought of tech hurdles keeps me at bay. Not a computer expert I feel lost, The fear of complications, a feature I can't cross. Help arrives in my nephew's kind hand, With videos and guidance, he helps me to understand. With open eyes and an inquisitive mind, I see the process and not being bind. Step by step the blog takes shape, A space for my words, a poetic escape. Those Early Days

Those Early Days  The days are getting shorter  The ending is near We can only wait and pray To the Lord we place our fear. We had been blessed  The day that we were born  Being young and carefree  With no responsibility to perform.  Materials desires were easily available  Spending without a thought  Not knowing the wisdom of saving  Purchased not caring the cost.  Friends were plenty all around Merry making was the norm Alcohol and ladies all at disposal  Life was perfect, no thought for reform.  Knowing a dame I thought an angel With ignorance I pursue with might  The days were fun with laughter  Being blind, could not see the light. An end to all things soon occurred  The angel began to change  Wanting to sever for another  Leaving me hopeless and deranged.  Pain and loneliness soon I feel  Crying and asking was it for real Then from my slumber I awake  Telling myself it's not too late.  To overcome pain and sadness  Join colleagues for games in club We talk and joke with madne
